TheTactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC)course is designed to provide first responders, EMS personnel, law enforcement officers, firefighters, security personnel, and other public safety professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide life-saving medical care during high-threat and dynamic environments. Based on evidence-based trauma care principles, TECC focuses on the rapid assessment and treatment of preventable causes of death, including severe bleeding, airway compromise, and chest injuries.
Participants will learn patient care priorities during Direct Threat, Indirect Threat, and Evacuation phases, including hemorrhage control with tourniquets and hemostatic agents, airway management, treatment of penetrating trauma, casualty movement techniques, and coordination with rescue and law enforcement operations. Practical hands-on scenarios reinforce critical decision-making and medical interventions under stress.
This course follows current national best practices and guidelines established by theCommittee for Tactical Emergency Casualty Careand prepares responders to improve patient outcomes during active violence incidents, mass casualty events, and other high-risk emergencies.
